The question we get most is not about fabric or zippers. It is which size. The truthful answer depends on what has to move with you, so this note walks the shelf from the smallest pouch to the one that is nothing but compartments.

The small one earns the jacket pocket

The small pouch is built for a day, not a trip. A wall plug, a short cord or two, a flash drive, a pair of earphones with a little room left over. It rides in a jacket pocket or the front sleeve of a backpack without printing through, and the wrist strap means it can leave the bag entirely.

Where it stops: a full-size mouse plus a laptop brick together make it bulge, and a bulging pouch stops zipping flat. If your daily carry includes both, you are one size short.

The medium is the commuter answer

The medium holds a laptop charger, a mouse, a longer cable folded loose, and the small stuff in the mesh layer above. It sits flat against a laptop sleeve inside a work bag, which matters more than it sounds: a pouch that stands proud of the laptop is the lump you feel on your shoulder all the way home.

Most people who write to us about sizing end up here. The small one tempts because it is tidy, but the medium is the one that swallows the charger without argument.

The large and the compartment pouch

The large pouch is for actual travel: two chargers, a power bank, cables for more than one machine, an adapter or two. It fills the bottom of a carry-on the way a shoe bag would and keeps the whole electronics question in one place at the security belt.

The compartment pouch answers a different problem. It is not bigger, it is more divided: a slot per item, so nothing shifts and nothing tangles. If your gear is many small things rather than a few large ones, divisions beat volume.

How to decide in one pass

Lay everything that has to move on the table. If it fits on a sheet of paper, the small one takes it. If it covers the sheet, medium. If it spills past the edges or includes a power bank and a second charger, large. And if the pile is a dozen small items, the compartment pouch is the one doing real work.
