Over the door towel rack

4.5 out of 5 (64)

A wet towel bunched over a single peg stays damp until morning. We made this bar wide enough to let fabric hang open to the room air, then added rounded wooden knobs beneath it for shirts and robes. It drops over the top of the door frame with no screws or glue.

Cold rolled metal frame

The frame uses powder coated steel that stays rigid under heavy wet fabric. The matte finish sheds moisture in steamy bathrooms and wipes down with a dry rag.

Seven round wood knobs

We swapped sharp metal tips for smooth solid wood pegs along the bottom edge. Wool sweaters and thin travel shirts hang by their collars without catching or pulling loose threads.

Flat folding arms

The side brackets fold down flat against the central bar when you lift it off the frame. The whole piece packs into a suitcase or a dorm bin without bending.

Padded door clips

The top brackets snap into place over standard interior doors. Soft pads line the back surfaces so the metal does not rattle or scrape paint when the bathroom door swings shut.
