Wet wash has to dry somewhere, even when there is no yard and no spare floor. We shaped this rack to ride the top of a standard interior door without screws or brackets. When the wash is dry, the entire frame folds flat against the panel so the door still opens.

We built the frame from solid metal so the bars stay straight under wet fabric. The joints hold firm when loaded with heavy damp towels or freshly washed shirts.
The top brackets slip over the upper edge of an ordinary room or closet door. You get a place to dry laundry without drilling holes into rental walls or finding floor room.
The drying bars pull out when wet wash comes out of the tub, then fold away against the wood when everything is dry. It stays ready without blocking the hallway.
The sides swing out to give you extra hanging spots for clothes on hangers or damp bath towels. You can spread laundry out so air moves between each piece.
